Responsibilities

  • You will be part of an acute team currently comprising of a band 7 acute lead dietitian, band 7 gastroenterology dietitian, a band 6 stroke dietitian, 2 band 5 dietitians and 2 dietetic assistants.
  • The band 5 posts will include a caseload of general medical, endocrinology, respiratory, surgical and care of the elderly wards.
  • The post holder will deliver a general outpatient clinic, deliver dietetic support to, run remote IBS sessions once a month.
  • The post holder will also be involved in delivering group sessions including maternity healthy weight group and IBS.
  • The post holder will liaise, support, inform and work with the multidisciplinary team for elderly care, GPs, practice nurses, district nurses.
  • Integral to the role would be to formulate, deliver and review individual dietetic treatment plans for patients based on evidence based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of a wide range of dietetic treatments.
  • The post holder would be encouraged and guided to maintain their portfolio by self directed learning, reflective practice and CPD sessions and opportunities.
