  • Operating in a highly regulated business which mandates heightened focus on statutory compliance with zero tolerance. In-house lawyers have to be equipped to provide both proactive and reactive support to ensure business continuity whilst hedging against financial/ non-financial risks. Uncertainty and dynamic nature of the regulatory framework and judicial developments warrants astute legal advice to support business.
  • The major challenge for the job is effective improvisation in order to achieve the business objectives amidst the rigidity and rigour of the legal framework.

  • KRA1 Commercial Documentation
  • Drafting and reviewing various kinds of agreements and other legal documents to ensure that legal risks are minimized or eliminated and also ensure compliance of Company’s internal risk parameters/policies as well as applicable laws or regulations.
  • Standardizing of agreements.
  • Detailed review of legal documents to identify potential risks to the business.
  • Raise red flags and make recommendations to the business to resolve issues.
  • Participate in meetings with counterparts’/business team to discuss and negotiate the terms of contracts.
  • Quick turnaround of documents.
  • KRA2 Handling disputes, arbitration and litigation
  • Litigation management through Provakil, review of existing litigations and identifying the impact, identifying opportunities for cost reduction in litigation, assisting in leading litigations/ investigations and collaborating with business and external counsels in litigation management, research, monitoring of ongoing litigations as also any that may be filed in future, record management.
  • To guide the business on all types of litigation, briefing lawyers and reviewing the documents relevant for legal proceedings.
  • Key Litigation update as and when it progresses.
  • Drafting of written statement/ rejoinders /documents and ensure its timely filing
  • Attending hearing before Court / Tribunals, follow up with advocates.
  • KRA3 Compliances
  • Audit review and risk assessment - reviewing and monitoring compliance management tools, conducting periodic compliance audits and preparing audit report, meetings with internal stakeholders, updating the business with the latest changes in laws, rules and regulations, identifying gaps in compliance, preparing an action plan and suggesting mitigation solutions to internal stakeholders.
  • KRA4 Process Development
  • Identify gaps in operational processes and suggest improvements to existing SOPs, implement new process with appropriate SOPs/providing timely guidelines.
  • Assist in stabilization of ProVakil, roll out reports to business clients for real time update on litigation status / updates.
  • KRA5 Personal Development and Knowledge Building
  • Understanding and developing firm technical knowledge about the industry and the various operations run by the employer at its various locations across India by performing hands-on training at the units.
  • Assisting cross-functional teams with legal support and guidance.
  • Actively participating in team development and capacity building activities.
  • KRA6 Projects and Regulatory Affairs
  • Assist the cross-functional teams of the specific project assigned with regulatory approvals and licences requirements.
  • Advice and assist the Unit Corporate Affairs on regulatory and compliance matters with respect to communications/advisories while dealing with external statutory authority.
