Responsibilities

  • The Assistant Communications Officer is responsible for conducting a wide range of tasks. The ACO will be assisting with the implementation of communications strategies, monitoring, digital communications and campaigns, and overseeing content production, and analytics, outreach and advocacy, as well as reporting and talking point as well as other technical communications activities. Responsibilities: Assist in the implementation of communications strategies to raise awareness, drive engagement, demonstrate the entity’s impact, and build support with target audiences. Assist in the monitoring and analysis of traditional, social, and digital media, media mapping and activities fostering relationships with media outlets. Support the development of talking points, press releases and media lines, including in crisis situations and on sensitive issues. Assist in the drafting and production of compelling digital and social media content, including videography, photography, web stories, reports, and infographics. Create and moderate engaging and platform-optimized content, including live content, tailored for social media and other digital platforms to advance digital communications priorities and campaigns work. Draft and disseminate internal communications content across relevant platforms. Assist in developing and implementing communications campaigns that engage and have measurable impact with target audiences through appropriate channels and platforms. Assist the development and coordination of strategic communications partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to reach target audiences and maximize impact. Assist in delivering in-person outreach and advocacy strategies and campaigns to engage target audiences and advance UN priorities. Contribute to the collection and analysis of data as well as identification of trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods for data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting. Contribute to the execution of research methodologies to monitor, analyse, and report on risks to information integrity across online and/or offline information sources. Keep abreast of the latest trends in communications and maintain expertise in relevant and emerging technologies. Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and discreet handling of sensitive information in compliance with the UN data privacy, security requirements, and standards. Monitor, analyse and report on communications strategies, approaches, and activities to assess their performance and impact. Assist the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of digital media to evaluate impact and inform content creation.
