Requirements

  • Strong molecular biology skills including Gateway, InFusion and Gibson Assembly cloning technologies, knowledge in plasmid construct design (including antibodies), agarose gel electrophoresis, DNA purification, DNA sequencing and sequence analysis
  • Experience with molecular biology software such as Sequencher, SnapGene or Geneious
  • Experience in running automation and high throughput instrumentation including liquid handlers (Tecan/Hamilton)
  • Ability to work with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and biological registration systems (example: GeneData Biologics)
  • Ability to transform and analyze large datasets through a variety of methods (e.g., Spotfire)
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Detail-oriented, strong skills in organization, time management, and teamwork are essential
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with developing new methods for automation equipment, particularly liquid handlers, is desired
  • BS or MS in biology or related field and 0-2 years of experience in a research laboratory or a biopharma/biotech company

Responsibilities

  • The individual in this position will be responsible for the operation of our automated molecular biology platform to enable the generation of hundreds of DNA plasmids per project.
  • The large numbers of recombinant plasmids generated on the automated molecular biology platform will be used for expressing proteins/antibodies (including multi-specific protein therapeutics) on the established automated protein expression and purification (PEPP) system.
