  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team are essential for this position.
  • The successful applicant will be working with patients who are admitted with respiratory conditions, requiring surgery and those who are taking part in rehabilitation on the intensive care unit.
  • The Support Worker role involves assisting patients to practice their self-care tasks such as washing/dressing, toileting, activities of daily living, mobility and exercise programmes.
  • Supporting general administrative duties would also be an essential part of this role.
  • Therapies provide a 7-day therapy service, and any successful applicant will be expected to participate in the rota.
  • We welcome applications from candidates interested in a flexible working pattern / hours. This must be raised at interview to be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting patients to practice their self-care tasks such as washing/dressing, toileting, activities of daily living, mobility and exercise programmes.
  • Supporting general administrative duties.
  • Working closely with experienced physiotherapists and occupational therapists to support and assist patients with their rehabilitation programme.
  • Enabling patients to be discharged safely from hospital.
  • Participating in the rota as the therapies provide a 7-day therapy service.
  • Supporting the development of staff through training, supervision, competencies and appraisal.
