What qualifications are needed for the Mechanical Craftsperson position?
You need to have completed a recognized and registered Apprenticeship in City & Guilds, B-TEC ONC, NVQ2 and above, or have achieved recognized equivalent training or experience in Mechanical/Plumbing Engineering.
What are the working hours for this role?
The working hours are 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Thursday from 8am to 4.30pm (with a 1-hour lunch), and Friday from 8am to 4pm (with a 30-minute lunch).
Is overtime required for this position?
Yes, emergency overtime may be required and you will need to work unsupervised.
Will I need to be on call?
Yes, you must participate in the Mechanical on-call rota, which is currently 1 week in 9.
What kind of tasks will I be responsible for?
You will diagnose and repair faults on complex mechanical services, carry out repairs and preventative maintenance on various systems, and install plumbing work as required.
Are there opportunities for training and skill development?
Yes, training may be available in site-specific roles, and you will be supported by the Estates management to broaden and develop your skills.
