What is the purpose of this Biomedical Scientist position?
The purpose of this position is to cover a period of maternity leave in the Point of Care Testing (POCT) department and to contribute to the team's efforts in providing high-quality pathology services, including biochemistry and haematology tests.
What kind of training will be provided for this role?
Training will be provided in the Point of Care department, along with further pathology training as required to meet the service's needs, maximizing future employment and promotion prospects.
What hours will the Biomedical Scientist be expected to work?
The position requires working 37.5 hours per week, with department operating hours from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
Is experience in Biochemistry or Haematology required for this role?
Knowledge or experience in Biochemistry or Haematology is desirable but not essential; full training in the department's systems will be provided.
Is this role patient-facing?
Although this role is not classified as patient-facing, it does involve routine visits to wards and theatre areas, including ICUs and the Emergency Department.
