  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with a range of audiences in different situations. This includes the ability to develop guidance skills to the level needed to work effectively with researchers.
  • Ability to use qualitative and quantitative information to critically evaluate, demonstrate and improve the effectiveness of activities
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and implement projects and regular tasks as part of a busy workload
  • Willingness and ability to seek new and better ways to deliver an excellent service including embracing technological developments
  • Sufficient work experience to provide understanding of a client’s career management needs. Evidence of an interest in the research environment and the issues researchers face in career management both within and beyond academia.

Responsibilities

  • - Support development of career management skills and navigating careers in and beyond academia
  • - Conduct in person or online workshops
  • - Facilitate one to one coaching appointments
  • - Design digital resources
  • - Work with home and international clients from across all academic disciplines within King’s
  • - Build excellent stakeholder relationships across King’s and externally
  • - Deliver a high-quality service

What is the working hours arrangement for this position?

This position is for 0.9 FTE (31.5 hours per week) and offers flexibility around core delivery hours, which are from 10am to 4.30pm.

Will I be working with undergraduate students or only postgraduate researchers?

You will be primarily supporting postgraduate researchers and research staff, but may also engage with recent alumni and students from all disciplines.

Is there an opportunity for professional development?

Yes, candidates without a relevant professional qualification in careers and employability are expected to commit to acquiring an approved qualification once employed.

What is the deadline for applications?

When will interviews be conducted for this role?

Interviews are scheduled to be held on 18th and 19th September 2024.
