What is the duration of the Clinical Fellow position in TYA Haematology/Oncology?
The position is a 6-month fixed term contract starting in March 2026.
What are the working hours for this position?
The working hours are 40 hours per week, from 08:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with on-call commitments including evenings, weekends, and nights as part of a 1:10 rota.
What percentage of the role is dedicated to clinical activity versus special interest activities?
The role comprises 80% clinical activity and 20% for special interest activities such as research, service development, and training.
Will I receive supervision in this role?
Yes, you will have consultant supervision and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of patients on the inpatient service.

There are numerous in-house training and teaching opportunities, including weekly teaching sessions, journal clubs, and involvement in audit projects, guideline development, and clinical trials.
Can I participate in clinical trials?
Yes, you will have the opportunity to be actively involved as a sub-investigator in a wide portfolio of clinical trials across various disease subtypes.
What subspecialties can I gain expertise in during this fellowship?
You can develop expertise in areas such as acute and chronic leukaemias, lymphomas, neuro-oncology, sarcomas, bone marrow transplant, CAR T cell therapy, and lab diagnostics.
