Requirements

  • It is essential you are a fully qualified Solicitor/FCILEx or an experienced case handler equivalent with experience of working on a litigated clinical negligence / serious PI caseload.
  • This is a busy and demanding role and a high standard of performance is expected.
  • You will be able to demonstrate the ability to deal sensitively with clients and professionally with your colleagues, experts, barristers, defendant representatives, our insurance partners and Courts etc.
  • As a team player you will be very confident with clinical negligence law and procedures and be able to use your own initiative.
  • You will have experience of pursuing litigated clinical negligence claims.
  • You will be proactive in planning and pushing all your cases to a successful conclusion as quickly as possible.
  • The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and motivated to work within clinical negligence.
  • You will be keen to achieve the best possible outcome for your client.
  • You need to have good organisational skills and a pragmatic approach to managing claims, as well as proficient IT and communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal skills are needed together with the ability to manage tasks in an assertive, efficient and timely manner.
  • You will have good working knowledge of the CPR and the law relating to clinical negligence and it would be an advantage to have experience in dealing with Legal Expense Insurance, publicly funded and conditional fee agreement arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage your own caseload of litigated clinical negligence claims;
  • To supervise within the group under the direction of the Group Leader and support of your line manager;
  • To participate in team training and marketing activities;
  • To use the group’s case management procedures, adhere to SLA’s, achieve targets for billed costs, time utilisation, telephony and case management to-do’s amongst others.
  • You will be managed in a friendly and professional Group structure with a line manager and Group Leader to support you.
