Requirements

  • We are looking for a minimum of a 2:2 degree, or equivalent, in any subject (either achieved or expected). Ideally in a subject involving numbers and analysis. Numerical competence and an inquisitive nature, with the ability to identify trends, patterns and insights from data, and a talent for communicating complex ideas.

Responsibilities

  • The placements you may experience in our area include:
  • Commercial Analytics: We operate in a fast-paced and often constantly evolving sector, where you’ll interpret complex commercial data and identify revenue generating opportunities. Our colleagues combine analytical skills with commercial acumen and find creative ways to answer time-sensitive questions every day, such as “How should we respond to a competitor’s new pricing strategy?”. With exposure to senior leaders, you'll relish the challenge of finding new ways of doing things and influencing decisions.
  • The projects that you could be involved with include the use of new data and metrics; working hand in hand with our front-line Global Sales team, so we can improve revenue and market share; understanding how we get our products in front of our customers and how our customers pay for them; and influencing the digital customer experience roadmap through measuring performance, testing new innovative solutions, and understanding the online customer journey.
  • Network Analytics: Fleet Planning and Network Planning both sit within the Networks & Alliances directorate, at the heart of British Airways’ business, making critical decisions affecting the future strategy of the airline. We drive the management and planning of our network, schedules, fleet, airport slot portfolio and infrastructure development. You’ll be part of the team by analysing and interpreting complex data, influencing colleagues right across the business, and supporting key strategic recommendations in those respective areas.
  • The projects that you could be involved with include the evaluation and acquisition of new aircraft, to defining and delivering the seating configuration for each aircraft type; developing the strategic direction of our future flight network, with a focus on planning beyond 18 months; and optimising our current flight, covering the period from 18 months to 3 months prior to departure.
