Responsibilities

  • Proactively review, evaluate and execute the contractual financial obligations of agreements and deal terms for ATL talent working on our series, both domestically and internationally. Our team handles payments for rights, scripts, writers, producers, consultants, casting and voice directors, production companies and more. The payments we handle can cover projects from development through launch of the series.
  • Prepare one-time payment authorizations and recurring payment schedules for ATL talent to facilitate timely and accurate payments. Payments are processed internally via accounts payable or payroll. Our team provides guidance for applicable guild minimums, as well as guild PH&W rates and caps. In addition, you should be familiar with loan out corporations, pay entities, local tax withholding obligations, etc.
  • Track deadlines for ATL deals from the development phase through reversion, including subsequent seasons, talent and rights option deadlines and hold periods. We draft and issue relevant notices, including extensions, and option exercise notices. We track writers' room engagements, various development and production milestone deliveries, and order-to-series deadlines.
  • Create and maintain WGA tracking spreadsheets and liaise with writers’ room support staff, as well as Netflix Creative and Business Affairs, for episodic script reporting and to ensure timely payments.
  • Collect ATL payroll start paperwork, and ensure that it is accurate and complete.
  • Serve as one of the points of contact for onboarding and offboarding above-the-line talent within Netflix Series Animation to ensure an excellent experience for our talent.
  • Act as an internal and external point-of-contact for payment and deadline related questions.
  • Create and maintain filing for payments and back-up within a cloud-based document management system, and enter financial information into a shared deal/contract database.
  • Periodically prepare payments and deadline tracking reports for various cross-functional teams for special ad-hoc projects.
  • Maintain flexibility and openness to take on additional projects as necessary, even outside of your area of expertise.
