Requirements

  • University degree (3/5 years) in statistics, mathematics, analytics, economics or other quantitative discipline
  • 1 to 3 years of experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches, preferably in insurance industry
  • Experience using statistical computer languages and packages (such as SQL, R, Python, JMP) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
  • Experience using insurance analytics software Emblem, Radar Base and Radar Live
  • Expert level proficiency with Excel; intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Proficiency with one or more business intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Cognos, MicroStrategy, or Tableau
  • Strong problem solving abilities, including demonstrated tenacity at mining data to discover root causes of results
  • Self-starter with ability to manage projects independently in order to deliver the best possible experience to internal and external clients
  • Ability to handle fast-paced professional office environment and foster excitement around an analytical business culture
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English, including ability to translate complex analysis and concepts for non-experts

Responsibilities

  • Conducts analysis projects across Travel line of business targeted at improving company revenue and profitability, and communicates the results of those analyses to internal stakeholders.
  • Builds models and tools to improve and optimize business outcomes, including but not limited to customer experience, revenue and profitability.
  • Drives the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources.
  • Performs data mining and processing to prepare analysis on large data sets.
  • Assesses the effectiveness and accuracy of new business tools, techniques and processes for incorporation into company and department best practices.
  • Partners with internal departments on projects where data analysis and reporting expertise is necessary.
  • Regular, predictable, reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
