  • - You have basic knowledge and understanding of content and architecture of multiple domains (technologies, applications, business processes).
  • - You can define and align (global) architecture standards.
  • - You work independently and act as a self-starter to design reference architectures for your domain and to make the dependencies visible to move from the current landscape to the target landscape.
  • - At the same time, you avoid silos' thinking by proactively seeking collaboration with others to co-create.
  • - Therefore, you have co-creation skills (workshops, guiding, constraining, selling, telling).
  • - You take decisions on the basis of limited information and use indirect influence.
  • - You have a long-term perseverance, without becoming dogmatic or rigid.
  • - Master level or equivalent by experience and good written and spoken knowledge of English.

  • - You anticipate Risk, Security & Reliability requirements for your solutions and you coordinate the embedding of mitigations in the architecture designs and principles for your scope.
  • - Having experience with the principles of agile development is highly preferred.
  • - You have the ability to travel.

Responsibilities

  • As the Domain Architect for Roles & Mandates, you will guide the NL Business and IT delivery teams in the design, dependencies and the transition towards the target.
  • You take responsibility to define reference and transition architecture designs (based on business requirements) for the applications in your domain and provide guidance to solution architects and engineers on execution according to architectural design. Temporary deviations are registered as debts and monitored.
  • Domain Architects are expected to collaborate with our business colleagues (to understand -and challenge- the requirements), Enterprise Architects, Platform Architects, other Domain Architects, IT Solutions Architects, IT managers and Dev/Ops teams to bring the application landscape of the domain further towards the target.
  • The current application landscape around Roles & Mandates consists of a complex mix of legacy and (global, still evolving) target applications which the coming years incrementally need to transitioned to a more simplified target application landscape, also supporting a more sophisticated proposition for our customers. Making this complex transition happen, requires solid analytical, structuring and communication skills.
  • Within ING we strive for a loosely coupled and scalable architecture, that is adaptive to change in an Agile Scrum context with sufficient decouple points. The implementation dependency roadmap for the upcoming quarters balance feasibility to implement and ambition to move towards our strategic target architecture. Non-functional requirements (e.g. security and resilience) are taken into account.
  • Within the Customer Domain Area of NL a big initiative has been started to transform the complete (legacy landscape) to the target. Especially for Roles & Mandates domain, it's also needed to step outside the boundaries of your own domain to accomplish the desired outcomes.
