Requirements

  • Extensive experience (~10 years) in corporate/policy communications for consumer facing brands, or in relevant Government communications departments.
  • Campaign mindset with a proven track record delivering proactive communications strategies/campaigns that cut through and deliver measurable results.
  • Experience in issues management and explaining complex topics across a wide range of audiences.
  • Proven experience that stretches beyond media relations to reach audiences directly via social/owned content.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making ability in complex and dynamic scenarios. Ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • A well-organised team player with a proven ability to build relationships cross-functionally across different time zones, and to successfully engage and influence senior stakeholders to shape outcomes for the highest impact.

Responsibilities

  • Communications strategy, planning and execution - working with our global and in-country comms teams, public affairs, policy programmes, and marketing to develop, coordinate and deliver execution of the Global AI corporate/policy communications strategy in EMEA
  • Create relevant, newsworthy stories/content for owned and earned channels that demonstrate Meta’s leadership in the AI era, demonstrate the socio-economic value enabled by Meta’s AI and metaverse technologies, and build trust in Meta and our innovations. Work with country Comms teams to execute and land those.
  • Agency coordination and management
  • Crisis and issues management - working with local country teams to manage and respond to inbound press enquiries across the region
  • Build a deep understanding of Meta’s AI and Metaverse products, policies and approach, and distill this work into plain language for media, policymakers, and the general public through a wide range of written material like blog posts, Q&As, briefing materials and talking points.
  • Serve as a corporate spokesperson, as needed
  • Ensure we have a strong bench of relevant and trained spokespeople for media interviews and public speaking engagements.
