Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, with a clear interest in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification or ability to obtain prior to start
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • This position is considered hybrid/remote and may require you to either work in the local office or from your home in the South/Southeast Region of the United States (you must live in one of the following states: AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MO, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, VA, and WV).
  • Ability to support work for/in other offices requiring travel (possibly including Temporary Duty Assignments)
  • Internet service with a MINIMUM speed of 25Mbps download/10Mbps upload as required to effectively meet project performance requirements (higher internet speed is recommended)
  • Sponsorship is not available for this position
  • Ideally, you will have
  • MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering
  • Previous relevant internship experience in Structural Engineering, preferably with experience analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
  • Experience with STAAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam
  • Familiarity with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will be working to develop a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Structural Engineering, gaining experience in multiple subject areas, and learning how Structural design integrates with and impacts other disciplines. You will be given as much responsibility as you are willing to take, and your opportunities for career growth will be limited only by your own motivation, capabilities, and attitude.
  • The ideal candidate will exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control, being committed to checking their own work and reaching out to peers and seniors for guidance when questions arise. As a member of our team, it is important that you are ready for the responsibility of managing your own workload. Meeting commitments and taking ownership of your portion of the structural scope, reliably working to meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements. You may be given tasks with ill-defined conditions of satisfaction; in which case you will be expected to take the initiative to determine what is needed to meet the project and client needs–recognizing when help is needed.
