Responsibilities

  • Data Protection and GDPR: Leading the implementation, deployment, and monitoring of data management procedures to ensure compliance with Spanish and EU data protection regulations. Privacy and GDPR compliance will be a central focus of your role, given its critical importance.
  • Internal Audit & Compliance: Overseeing the internal audit processes, including the prevention, detection, and control of risks. Ensure that all internal protocols and policies are up to date and aligned with corporate governance requirements.
  • Corporate Governance: Guiding and ensuring compliance with corporate governance standards within the organization. You will play a key role in shaping and maintaining a robust compliance culture.
  • Legal Management: Managing and providing guidance on a broad range of legal issues including commercial law, consumer law, and intellectual property. Overseeing the management of litigation, legal disputes, and negotiations related to these areas.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: While M&A is a secondary priority, you will still support and advise the M&A team on acquisitions and high stakes projects when necessary, particularly in due diligence and post-transaction integration.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that the company adheres to relevant regulations, including those specific to the medical device sector, marketing, advertising, and competition law.
  • Team Leadership: Leading the Legal & Compliance team, providing direction and development opportunities for your direct reports and their teams. This includes managing their workload, professional growth, and ensuring a high standard of legal and compliance services.
  • Training & Development: Conducting training for operational staff on legal and compliance matters to foster a culture of compliance and ensure that all employees understand the legal framework within which they operate.
