  • Strategic planning & implementation: Proven experience in developing commercial strategies to achieve climate & nature goals as well as translating those strategies into effective end-to-end processes & tools
  • Risk management: Expertise in ESG related risk drivers, transmission challenges & their effect on the different risk categories, plus practical experience in developing risk strategies and risk models to manage ESG related risk drivers based on data
  • Deep expertise: Broad understanding of the application of climate science to our clients business models & transitioning of the real economy
  • Balances stakeholders: effective communicator and highly experienced in complex stakeholder management balancing different commercial and risk needs
  • Dilemma management & decision quality: Ability to balance strategic direction in a changing external environment

  • Work: Overall 10+ years work experience. Someone who has been active in the financial industry with deep & practical experience in ESG principles, sustainability frameworks and industry standards as well as regulation. In addition, deep knowledge about climate & nature science, the relevant climate scenarios and the climate change mitigation challenges and nature dependencies of relevant sectors
  • Managerial Experience: Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short / medium timescales to deal with both the day-to-day challenges and the development and implementation of our longer-term sustainability strategy

Responsibilities

  • To be successful it is imperative that you will not be “managing the process” from the sidelines; you and your team will work closely with and in the delivery organization, facilitate conflict and impediment resolution and lead deep dives on content topics that might hamper the successful delivery of our strategic objectives.
  • As the Head of Expertise and Implementation team you are a linking pin and you actively share best practices across the organization. You will work directly with the other members of WB Tech, Global sustainability, SSG Sector teams, ESG Integrated Risk, WB and group Finance.
  • You proactively shape and drive strategic initiatives, anticipating issues and providing quantitatively backed up sustainability solutions.
  • You guide and coach various stakeholders by steering on facts, thorough analysis, business analysis and applying latest scientific methodology.
  • You create fresh and relevant new insights into our clients’ sustainability progress with the aim to support business generation and client engagement.
  • You act as a delegated business sponsor for all initiatives contributing to our strategic objectives.
  • You represent the Sector Coverage organisation and SSG in a number of platforms and committees which could include: WB Sustainability Steerco, ESG Risk Committee, Terra (Technical Board / Steerco), ESG design and delivery boards.
  • You coach, develop and steer your team members.
