Responsibilities

  • - Build the basis for long-term success, owning and developing the people plan, supporting business strategy and objectives, ensuring Leadership decisions are taken in accordance with their agreed people strategies.
  • - Take strategic and directional responsibility for the HR team, ensuring delivery of the People Plan designed around their workforce of circa 5,000, dispersed across their multiple locations and business areas.
  • - Derive maximum ROI from the newly implemented People software/systems (MHR/iTrent), capitalising on the opportunities available, leading and executing the long-term plan for this new investment.
  • - Provide top level strategic direction and leadership of the HR team ensuring that at all times they have a clear and relevant People strategy and delivery plan in place, and this is well communicated, understood and consistent with their business needs and core values.
  • - Define a series of targets and KPI’s to effectively monitor progress against the People Plan objectives and oversee effective internal and external reporting of performance on relevant topics.
  • - Actively represent the people agenda in ongoing Leadership and Board discussions ensuring the LT has full visibility of the people implications and opportunities in strategic business decisions and a current view of performance against agreed people objectives, targets and KPIs.
  • - Ensure competitive advantage is achieved from the people strategies and they realise maximum possible advantage from their people.
  • - Actively champion a workplace culture that supports diversity, inclusion and colleague wellbeing and the wider responsible and sustainable business goals and values.
  • - Line manage and work together with the Head of HR to build a professional, high performing and motivated people function, serving all areas of the business.
  • - Form an integral part of the top leadership of the business, working with senior colleagues as an advocate to drive the achievement of overall strategic objective to create a successful business.
