The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill an Institution Complaint Examiner position. This position is based out of Dodge Correctional Institution, located in Waupun, WI. Position Summary This position investigates inmate complaints on institution rules, policies, practices, and individual staff actions. Makes recommendations to the Warden regarding disposition of complaints and initiates necessary action to implement the decision and monitor until its completion. Maintains files and records on complaints. Monitors institution climate and fosters communication and problem-solving between staff and inmates. Salary Information Pay Schedule and Range 81-04 with an annual salary range of $42952 - $79144 plus benefits. Pay upon appointment for current or former State employees may vary and will be in accordance with language in the Compensation Plan, Statutes, and Administrative Code. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Job Details Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. Remote work is not an option for this position. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have experience: * Interpreting, implementing, and monitoring investigative resolutions, corrective actions, policies and procedures to ensure compliance (e.g., from staff. managers, agencies. the general public, other appropriate parties)  * Interpreting laws, rules and organizational policies (e.g. to staff and others including the general public)  * Conducting and/or coordinating investigations utilizing investigatory techniques (e.g., interviewing techniques, handling and preserving evidence, record keeping, reports)  In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have experience:  * Reviewing and analyzing investigative findings of cases (such as those involving complaints, criminal and/or other legal or policy matters) for accuracy, compliance, thoroughness, and appropriateness of recommended solutions for administrative action and resolution * Preparing an investigation summary report and making recommendations based on results for administrative action and resolution How To Apply To apply, click on “Apply for Job” to start the application process.
