Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree required. University of Alberta degree preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a cross-cultural setting
  • Experience in recruitment, public relations, promotion, communications, and/or event planning
  • Public speaking skills
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
  • Fluent in English
  • Willingness and ability to travel on a regular basis to the Middle East and North Africa
  • Knowledge of U of A's undergraduate and graduate programs
  • Knowledge of general and specific admission requirements for the Alberta system and major international education systems is an asset
  • Experience using Peoplesoft, Tableau, and Alfresco systems
  • Advanced CRM skills, Slate, preferred
  • Fluency in French

Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements strategies for recruitment of international students which will include representing the University of Alberta at international education or college fairs, visits to individual schools and other relationship-building activities.
  • Meets registered student recruitment targets for region as per the International Recruitment Work Plan and country plans.
  • Provides an outstanding level of customer service to potential students and stakeholders.
  • Works with selected agents that recruit students on behalf of U of A in selected markets, providing training remotely and/or on site, assisting with application process for students recruited by these agents, etc.
