Responsibilities

  • The post holder will primarily be responsible for identifying and enrolling eligible in-patients, outpatients and healthy volunteers to a portfolio of clinical trials in infection. Other responsibilities include data collection, sample processing, liaising with different clinical and research teams, supporting monitoring visits from central study teams, conducting participant follow-up where required, and project management. There are also opportunities to further develop leadership and management skills via the NIHR Associate PI training scheme, and attend conferences and investigator meetings. The post holder will also be encouraged and supported to undertake their own project during this time. The post holder will be expected to undergo training and certification in Good Clinical Practice (unless already certified) as well individual study specific training. The post holder will work closely with the Clinical Research Facility (CRF) nursing team, local principal investigators for each study and the clinical teams in the department.
