Responsibilities

  • This is an internal vacancy looking for an experienced Band 3 Maternity Care Assistant to work within a busy community team and to assist midwives with the support of women throughout their antenatal and postnatal journey.
  • The role will involve seeing women at the hub or in their homes with their new baby, taking newborn bloodspot samples and assisting with baby care and infant feeding.
  • You will be trained to be an expert in breastfeeding and will be a front-line ambassador for public health issues.
  • Some administrative duties will be expected in order to support the Midwives and full training will be given.
  • As a Band 3 Maternity Care Assistant you will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team in the community, where you will provide support to midwifery staff in the direct provision and support of patient care.
  • You will also provide a range of non-midwifery duties ensuring an efficient service to the ward and community at all times.
