Requirements

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed term position as a Postdoctoral Researcher with Civil Engineering at the University of Galway, Ireland.
This position is co-funded by the Taighde Éireann – Research Ireland (formerly Science Foundation Ireland) and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, and is available from 1st of August 2025 to contract end date of 31st of July 2027.
Salary: Postdoctoral Researcher salary scale € €44,846 - €57,332 per annum, (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.
Closing date for receipt of applications is 17:00 (Irish Time) on the 26th February 2025. It will not be possible to consider applications received after the closing date.

Responsibilities

This position involves the following responsibilities:
Conducting independent research under the supervision of the principal investigator.
Contributing to the development of research proposals and collaborating with external partners.
Publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences.
Assisting with the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Participating in project meetings and contributing to the overall management of the project.
Engaging with stakeholders and promoting the results of the research.
Collaborating with other researchers and institutions as necessary.
Maintaining accurate records of research activities and outputs.
Adhering to all ethical guidelines and institutional policies.
