  • Experience of providing legal advice on commercial contracts or a complementary area of law e.g. corporate, litigation, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manage external legal team on specific outsourced projects (where relevant)
  • Engage with stakeholders who input to the contracts e.g. Info Sec, Privacy, Finance
  • Accountable for the legal advice for each matter assigned to the role, with support from the SM responsible for the Business Unit, including:
  • Advice on how to best structure arrangements with external suppliers;
  • The negotiation and drafting of the legal documentation to support those arrangements;
  • Continuous improvement and best in class contract advice
  • Idea generation and implementation of (where appropriate) legal self-service goals
  • Maintaining MI and one version of the truth contracts repository in respect of those contracts assigned to the role.
  • Supporting corporate governance for all contracts assigned to the role.
  • Attending project meetings (where required)
  • Leading regular project manager level calls to touch in on all contracts and/or the pipeline
  • Providing input to legal processes and standard documents
  • Ensuring legal advice is delivered in a timely, clear and accessible way and gives appropriate weight to the business unit's commercial requirements and aims
  • Partners with project managers and stakeholders to deliver the business unit's legal requirements.
