Requirements

  • - Hold a master’s, doctoral or equivalent graduate degree in Counselling Psychology or Social Work
  • - Be currently registered and in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists
  • - Maintain individual professional liability/malpractice insurance
  • - Have relevant clinical practice experience, including clinical experience in the assessment and provision of appropriate intervention with a variety of conditions
  • - Be able to work both autonomously and as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • - Be efficient and responsive in the provision of required clinical documentation
  • - Demonstrate a work ethic, reliability, maturity and flexibility

Responsibilities

  • - Provision of clinical services for patients referred for counselling services
  • - Consultation, evaluation, assessment, interventions, monitoring of progress/outcomes and discharge with individuals and/or groups
  • - Management of a caseload consisting of patients who are either self-referred, referred by a physician, or referred by a third-party payer or a public agency

We would ideally like to attract a full-time Registered Counselling Therapist, but we are also open to considering part-time employee or independent contractor arrangements.

As a Registered Counselling Therapist, you will provide clinical services including consultation, evaluation, assessment, interventions, monitoring of progress/outcomes, and discharge with individuals and/or groups.

What kind of environment will I be working in?

You will work in a multidisciplinary clinic with a collaborative team that includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Kinesiologists, and a Pedorthotist, in a state-of-the-art facility located in the Valley Crossroads Professional Center.
