Requirements

  • - Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • - Graduate from a recognized office administration diploma program preferred.
  • - Previous experience in a health care setting, an asset.
  • - Demonstrated accurate keyboarding and data entry skills, required. Testing may be conducted on short-listed candidates with results will be factored into the candidate's overall suitability for this position.
  • - Basic knowledge of computer programs, including email and MS Word, required.
  • - Working knowledge of office equipment (e.g., fax machine, photocopier, scanner, etc) required (testing may be conducted).
  • - Demonstrated strong time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Registering patients for the Orthopaedic Clinics, greeting and directing clients
  • Making reminder phone calls to patients about upcoming clinic appointments
  • Scheduling new and follow-up patient appointments; coordinating with various Health Centre departments to book patient appointments
  • Answering phone calls, communicating messages and information accurately and appropriately, and redirecting inquiries accordingly
  • Participating in care team discussions as required, offering input and energy into efforts at improving clinic efficiency and functioning
  • Accurately entering/revising patient information in CWS/Meditech
  • Completing various health forms
  • Maintaining adequate supplies and order as needed
  • Providing general support to clients and staff (e.g., requisitioning lab, DI tests/procedures, filing, photocopying, making telephone calls, workload data, etc.)
  • Other duties as required
