Requirements

  • The Successful SEN Teaching Assistant will possess
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or other relevant degrees.
  • Experience of working effectively with children with a wide ability range including high attainder/SEND children.
  • A commitment to the safety and safeguarding of children and staff.
  • Excellent time management, motivational and communication skills that inspire high ambition throughout school.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities Of An SEN Teaching Assistant Include
  • Supporting within the classroom environment to ensure that children are accessing learning.
  • Following the school’s behaviour management policy to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all.
  • Liaising with class teachers and SENCOs to feedback progress towards personal targets.
  • Supporting students with additional needs, such as SEMH, ASC, MLD, and ADHD.
  • Keeping records of student progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant staff.
  • Undertaking intervention support for small group and individual children and feedback to the class teacher.
