Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a marketing, communications or business-related field
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience with either a publisher, brand or professional/college sports team
  • Significant in-depth knowledge and understanding of Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok and other social media platforms
  • Significant knowledge of the game of basketball, Miami HEAT team news (both current and historical) and NBA storylines
  • Significant knowledge of pop culture, current events, and social media/internet culture
  • Strong writing, creative and analytical skills
  • Social media creativity and swift adaptability to current events
  • Desire to work in and adapt to a fast-paced environment with availability for travel situations and work during nights, weekends and holidays
  • Motivated self-starter with explicit attention to detail and strong organizational, collaboration, relationship building and communication skills
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, and relationship building skills
  • Photography and Adobe Photoshop skills are a plus
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for strategizing, ideating, planning, producing, and posting content covering Miami HEAT basketball and other auxiliary accounts via social media platforms such as Instagram, X, TikTok and Facebook
  • Provide on-site coverage for Miami HEAT basketball games (both home and away) and team events, and produce content within brand strategy for social media platforms
  • Work within social media department to strategize, ideate, produce, and post content to Miami HEAT social media accounts; including Miami HEAT Store, Kaseya Center, Jr. HEAT & Miami HEAT Dancers
  • Monitor daily social media trends, fan conversations and engagement focused around the Miami HEAT, NBA and pop culture audiences
  • Use extensive Miami HEAT knowledge (current and historical) to ideate and create social media content within brand strategy
  • Collaborate with Content and Creative Services departments for successful content development and to ensure social media presence is in line with Miami HEAT brand, voice and social media strategy
  • Activate branded social media content deliverables and campaigns
  • Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Social Media Manager
