Responsibilities

  • Join our team and help build innovative security services that actively detect and mitigate cyber threats across Amazon's cloud infrastructure and customer services in real-time. You'll work alongside data scientists, security engineers, and software developers to develop cutting-edge mitigation solutions that proactively protect every AWS customer from emerging threats at a massive scale.
  • As a Software Development Engineer on the AWS Security Mitigation Services team, you'll create services that enable automated mitigation of security threats detected across AWS infrastructure. You'll collaborate with detection teams to develop mitigation capabilities that can stop threat actor activity as it's happening. Your work will leverage AWS's breadth of services to build scalable, real-time mitigation solutions.
  • Additionally, you will build and tune models for analyzing the potential risks of taking security actions.
  • This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. We don’t like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don’t get paged for the same issue twice.
  • We generally keep core business hours of 9:30 EST - 4:30EST, while allowing flexibility as needed. At AWS Security, it’s not about clocking hours, it’s about delivering results.
