Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer, solicitor or barrister with relevant experience in public & regulatory law (from before or after qualification).
  • Strong academics
  • Must possess a keen interest in public law
  • Between 1 year - 3 years PQE. We would consider candidates who are newly qualified if they have the relevant experience from before qualification. Our focus is on finding the right individual, rather than only looking for a particular level.
  • Experience of analysis, drafting, file management and client relationship building.
  • Ability to use own initiative and work independently, although support and supervision will be provided to the individual.
  • Judicial review experience
  • Previous experience in Business Development activities and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on a wide range of Public and regulatory law matters including Human Rights, Freedom of Information and EIR work.
  • Judicial review and statutory appeals.
  • Advising on investigation and statutory and non-statutory inquiries.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including other legal professionals to deliver comprehensive legal services to clients.
  • Effectively manage an individual caseload (with supervision where appropriate).
  • Attend to clients of the Firm in the office or elsewhere if needed.
  • Work in a collegiate and collaborative way within an immediate Team and wider Firm environment.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively both internally to colleagues and externally to clients.
  • Maintain your continuing professional development requirements and take an active interest in furthering your knowledge within the field of law.
  • To carry out your work for both colleagues and clients to the highest possible standard, having regard to the Firm’s standards, procedures and core values.
  • To regularly attend, and be involved in preparation for team meetings.
  • To attend and be involved in preparation for marketing and business development events and activities.
