The OCE provides rehabilitation for individuals aged 16 years and older.
What types of injuries do the patients at the OCE typically have?
The majority of our patients have suffered vascular or traumatic brain injuries due to head injury, stroke, subarachnoid haemorrhage, or other forms of brain injury from infection or cardiorespiratory arrest.
How long do patients typically stay in the OCE Inpatient Ward?
Patients are admitted for a duration of 3 to 6 months.
What is the role of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) in patient care?
The multidisciplinary team uses a patient-centered approach to support patients and their families, aiming to help them grow as individuals, regain independence, and reintegrate back into society.
What are the primary responsibilities of a staff nurse at the OCE?
A staff nurse will promote independence and adaptation for patients, develop therapeutic relationships, manage nutrition and continence, and ensure tissue viability, among other responsibilities.
What qualifications are required for the Staff Nurse position?
