Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Environmental Science, or other related programmes (Masters or above a plus)
  • Minimum 2.1
  • Must be geographically flexible and have a desire to relocate to any JM site for three placements for the duration of the development programme. Relocation assistance is provided to those who geographically qualify as determined by the placements
  • Must be a self-starter and able to manage ambiguity
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a true career aspiration to lead others is essential; must be adaptable, strive for excellence, and demonstrate a positive attitude in the face of adversity
  • Strong interpersonal skills a must, coupled with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships to achieve results
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills essential

Responsibilities

  • This science application will be for consideration of your first rotation, although we encourage individuals to rotate into all project areas.
  • Science projects may include:
  • Apply scientific methods to solve complex research problems and bring new perspective to existing solutions
  • Develop next generation catalysts to efficiently convert harmful emissions to environmentally friendly compounds
  • Assess environmental impacts of production technologies for R&D opportunity
  • Method design and delivery for product analysis
  • Support scale-up from lab to plant and standardize processes for day-to-day manufacturing
  • Commission lab equipment and develop/deliver training to chemists
