Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare (employer group) underwriting, or equivalent financial analysis work experience
  • Intermediate skills in MS Excel, MS Office product suite, and other technology tools
  • Generate innovative approaches and solutions to business opportunities
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to build interdepartmental relationships

Responsibilities

  • Assessing and pricing the financial risk associated with prospective and renewing cases using a variety of models
  • Leverage business knowledge to propose solutions to unique business problems regularly in a dynamic work environment
  • Evaluate and recommend alternative pricing options based on market analyses and trends
  • Gather, summarize and analyze detailed data in a variety of formats
  • Validate proposals for underwriting accuracy
  • Uses pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise
  • Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet deadlines
  • Provides explanations and information to others on topics within area of expertise
