What is the primary role of a Ward Clerk in the MHSOP team?
The primary role of a Ward Clerk is to undertake all administrative tasks and clerical duties as delegated by the Ward Manager or Senior Clerical Staff for Inpatient Wards and Day Hospital Units.
Who will I be liaising with in this role?
In this role, you will liaise with staff in Medical Records, Outpatients, the Directorate Management Team, Clinical and Medical Ward Staff, other departments within the University Health Board (UHB), other hospitals, and external health agencies as appropriate.
What skills are required for this position?
The position requires good computer skills, computer literacy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritise your workload. Being organised, enthusiastic, and self-motivated is also essential.
Is training provided for specific software used in this job?
Yes, training for specific systems such as PARIS will be provided, although good computer skills are essential.
Is it necessary to speak Welsh for this position?
While the ability to speak Welsh is desirable, Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
