What is the primary purpose of the EHS summer intern position?
The primary purpose of the EHS summer intern is to learn about key components of environmental compliance, safety measures, and occupational health requirements, and engage in EHS-related projects.
What roles will the intern be responsible for?
The intern will work on environmental, safety, and occupational health components within the Integrated Management System, assist with regulatory evaluation and reporting, monitor EHS key performance indicators, manage materials for the Hazard Communication Program, develop training and communication materials, participate in pollution prevention initiatives, and work on special projects.
What educational background is required for this internship?
The internship is for individuals pursuing a four-year degree in Environmental Science, Studies, Health, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related science degree such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Environmental Education.
Is prior experience required for the intern position?
Prior work and/or internship experience in a science field is ideal but not required.
What software skills are preferred for this internship?
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (such as Word, Excel, and Access) is required, and experience with Canva is a plus.
Are there any physical requirements for this role?
Yes, interns must be able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods of time, use standard office equipment, work outdoors, and wear Personal Protective Equipment. Additionally, all employees must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.
