Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master degree in Computer Science, Cyber or Information Security, Data Science, Information Technology, Risk Management or related field.
  • Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2024.
  • Have a deep interest in pursuing a career in security or risk including vulnerability assessment, intrusion/ threat detection, digital investigations, mobile device management, log analysis, identity and access management, Access Assurance, monitoring, endpoint security, security compliance and control and security advocacy.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduating December 2024 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
  • Self-motivated, strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communications skills; including writing and verbal for a variety of audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Support the TikTok Global Security Organization in the implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the Cybersecurity Program. Assignments may include:
  • Assist the Security team with special projects as assigned including, but not limited to, digital investigations, incident response efforts, employee education, vendor assessments and client collateral requests.
  • Assist in performing security audits and assessments, performing risk analyses, network forensics and penetration testing.
  • Develop, create, maintain and write/code new (or modify) existing scripts and alerts, API integrations or specialized utility programs.
  • Work with the security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor networks and respond to alerts for security issues.
  • Observe and interact with software used to protect systems and information infrastructure.
  • Stay current on security trends and news. Assist the Security team in developing company-wide security best practices.
  • Design and document operating procedures for security processes.
