Requirements

  • The position requires strong quantitative, analytical and technology capabilities. Interns must exhibit initiative and a strong desire to learn. The goal of the internship is to give interns a clear understanding of all areas of the audit department.

Responsibilities

  • Interns will become involved with all aspects of the audit practice and will gain solid, hands-on experience. They will receive guidance and on-the-job training from the audit staff to assist with the detailed verification procedures necessary to perform examinations of clients’ financial statements. They will be assigned client work and will be involved in various projects. Projects will be assigned on an as needed basis. Projects can include math checks, research, writing articles, footing financials, etc.
  • They will leave Marcum with the knowledge of what will be expected of them as staff accountants. Interns are allowed and encouraged to attend any subject matter training being offered during their internship. Marcum offers 150+ courses per year, in house. Interns will also receive on the job training and may be required to go to client sites at times.
