Requirements

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Health Administration or another related degree from an accredited school
  • Preferred: Currently enrolled in Master of Public Health, Master of Health Administration, Master of Public Administration or another related degree
  • Licensure/Certification:
  • None required.
  • Experience:
  • Preferred skills include: data entry and analysis, writing and editing, knowledge of public health, experience with community surveys or assessments, research, and Microsoft suite.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Community Benefit team.
  • Assist with creation of presentations, talking points and educational materials, as needed.
  • Review all grants awarded since inception of both grant programs.
  • Classification of grants by population served, focus area, need addressed and associated social determinant of health.
  • Meet with internal departments to survey methods of screening for social determinants of health.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Other Related Functions:
  • Assists in the planning, organization, management and performance of surveys, focus groups, data collection and analysis and review for the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment.
  • Assists Community Benefit team with special projects as required.
  • Participates in outreach and networking.
  • Attend community events, as needed.
  • Assists with reviewing, editing and writing department reports and assignments.
  • Participates in the development and preparation of policies, procedures, organization, budget, and short- and long-term programs.
  • Participates in the regular evaluation of the department’s goals and services.
