Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master degree in Information Science, Library Science, Data Science, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, Information Technology, Risk Management, Business Administration, Business Management, or related field.
  • Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2024.
  • Have a deep interest in pursuing a career in security or risk including data protection, information governance, records management, information management, and program or project management.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Self-motivated, strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communications skills, including writing and verbal for a variety of audiences.
  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduating December 2024 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
  • Experience with information governance, records management, and information management concepts or technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the TikTok Global Security Organization in the development and implementation of the information governance program to support compliance with standards, guidelines, regulatory agency requirements, and state and federal laws across the globe.
  • Assist the Global Information Governance team in the development and maintenance of information governance policies, processes, and controls.
  • Assist in the assessment and analysis of business units' adherence to information governance policies, processes, and controls and collaborate with stakeholders to identify any compliance gaps and develop a path forward to compliance.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of records inventories.
  • Assist in the development of change management and communication initiatives related to information governance, including policy changes and development / delivery of training materials.
  • Maintain an understanding of relevant information governance industry standards, best practices and technology.
