What are the working hours for the Pre Registration Pharmacy Technicians position?
The role involves working Monday to Friday, with a weekend and public holiday commitment on a departmental rota basis.
What qualifications are required to apply for this position?
Applicants must have National 5 qualifications at Grade A to C in Chemistry, Biology, Maths, and English/ESOL or Completion of the Access to Pharmacy Services (SCQF level 5), NC in Pharmacy Services or NC in Applied Sciences.

Yes, the salary is £21,013 in year 1 and increases to £22,514 in year 2 of the training program.
What type of training will I receive as a Pre Registration Pharmacy Technician?
You will undertake a 2-year distance learning training program to achieve the Diploma in Pharmacy Services, which includes the PDA in Pharmacy Services (SCQF 7) and SVQ in Pharmacy Services (SCQF 8).
Where will I be based during my training?
You will be based in the pharmacy department at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
Will I receive support during my training?
Yes, you will develop your knowledge and skills under the supervision and support of the pharmacy team.
What is the expected start date for this position?
The commencement date for this post will be 3rd February 2025.

No, this role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), and NHS Highland is unable to provide this.
Is there an opportunity for career advancement after completing the training program?
Yes, upon successful completion and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council, you will join the Pharmacy Technician Rotational team at Band 4 and have the opportunity to complete the NHS Education Scotland Vocational Training Foundation Programme for Pharmacy Technicians.
How often will I be studying during the training program?
One day a week during Scottish term time is dedicated to studying, allowing candidates to complete their interactive training modules from home.
