What qualifications do I need to apply for the Trainee Sleep Physiologist position?
You need to hold a BSc in a relevant science subject or equivalent experience.
What experience is preferred for this role?
Ideally, applicants should already be working as a sleep physiologist at band 5 or band 6 with significant experience in a sleep laboratory.
What kind of training will I receive in this role?
You will be trained in various diagnostic tests and clinical procedures, including CPAP initiation, full polysomnography (PSG), home sleep study tests, and more.
How long will it take to complete the core competencies?
It is expected that you will be signed off on core competencies within 18 months of starting the position.
What additional responsibilities will I have after being signed off on competencies?
Once fully signed off, you will be uplifted to a band 6 role and expected to assist with management duties, including appraisals and mentoring trainees.
