  • To use specialist respiratory knowledge and skills in proactively selection of suitable COPD patients for pulmonary rehabilitation utilising NICE and British Thoracic Society (BTS) guidelines, Association of Chartered Physiotherapist in Respiratory Care (ACPRC) guidelines, British Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation (BACR) guidelines and Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Cardiac Rehabilitation (ACPICR) guidelines.
  • To work in line with the PR health inequality QI project with a clear objective of case findings of patients at risk of experiencing health inequality
  • To undertake pre pulmonary rehabilitation clinics to ensure appropriate patients are selected and clinical risk is minimised.
  • To undertake and supervise others in running evidence based pulmonary rehabilitation and maintenance programme, ensuring that patient outcomes can be demonstrated.
  • To undertake comprehensive assessments of respiratory and heart failure patients with co-morbidities, including physical examination, and to develop treatment plans for patients using investigative and analytical skills.
  • To assess, develop and implement specialist care programmes, including pulmonary rehabilitation with evidence-based exercise prescription and progression, home oxygen, breathlessness, airway clearance, psychological interventions, and medication reviews, adhering to evidence based guidelines.
