What is the primary responsibility of the Bioinformatician at PHS?
The primary responsibility of the Bioinformatician at PHS is to deliver bioinformatics services in the Public Health Microbiology Bioinformatics Team, which includes developing and maintaining protocols for next generation sequencing (NGS) analysis to support public health surveillance.

The position is based in either Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Bothwell Street, Glasgow.
What is the expected work pattern for this role?
The work pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 28.8 hours per week.
Is there a requirement for the candidate to undergo a background check?
Yes, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check and provide a criminal record check if they have lived or worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years.
