Responsibilities

  • Performance of scientific and technical duties, as required, to the standard expected of a HCPC Biomedical Scientist
  • Maintenance of personal and professional development in conjunction with the needs of the department and as required by HCPC
  • To maintain registered status as a biomedical scientist with the HCPC Technical
  • Work within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in area of work, proposing changes to procedures when practices change in order to maintain a standard procedure for all staff. Via competency assessment to demonstrate a full understanding of the SOP
  • Ensure that all analyses are performed to the highest standard using approved methods and Quality Control systems. This will require prolonged periods of concentration, such as reviewing a blood film looking down a microscope or during authorisation of a batch of results.
