What qualifications are required for the Clinical Photographer position?
The ideal candidate should hold a degree in photography along with a postgraduate certificate in Clinical Photography and a minimum of 6 months post-qualification experience in medical photography. Full professional membership of the Institute of Medical Illustrators and AHCS registration is also required.
Is prior experience in medical photography necessary?
While a minimum of 6 months post-qualification experience is preferred, consideration will be given to newly qualified Clinical Photographers, and appropriate training will be provided.
What kind of work will I be doing as a Clinical Photographer?
The post holder will accurately capture stills and video images of clinical conditions on the wards, in clinics, and in the studio, as well as capturing clinical and non-clinical images for educational purposes and publication.
Will I be required to work on different sites?
Yes, the successful candidate will be based at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust but will also be rostered to work at Walsall Health Care Trust and The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trusts, among other sites.
Is a driving license required for this job?
Yes, a full UK driving license and own transport are essential as the role requires travel to various service sites.
What are the on-call requirements for this position?
The successful candidate will be required to participate in an emergency on-call rota, which runs from 5pm to 8am, Monday to Friday, and all day on weekends and Bank Holidays, approximately once every three months.
