Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision and support from the team you will be required to visit patients in their own homes providing clinical care.
  • Working as a Healthcare Assistant within the District Nursing Team you will visit patients in their own homes providing clinical care, including wound care, phlebotomy and extended skills once proficient.
  • To undertake care, following the instructions of the team leader or nominated deputy according to the needs of the patients as identified on the care plan, providing evidence based, high quality, holistic nursing care for patients in their own homes and care homes.
  • Our Community Health Care Assistants are required to work Bank Holidays, pro rata, and may be required to cover some weekends.
  • There is an expectation that the successful candidate will undertake our in house development program for extended skills which will involve insulin administration, administration of other injectables and catheterisation.
