  • Other tasks involved with the role include supporting a Board service visits programme, maintaining registers such as declarations of interests and hospitality, and maintaining the corporate governance web presence.

Responsibilities

  • The postholder will work as part of the Corporate Governance Team, led by the Company Secretary to establish, develop and maintain arrangements and procedures for the sound corporate governance of the Trust.
  • Predominantly this role will support the Assistant Company Secretary in ensuring that the Trust Board, Council of Governors and Foundation Trust Membership works effectively and efficiently within the constitutional framework of the Foundation Trust.
  • The post holder will promote the highest standards of good corporate governance and seek to identify opportunities for continuing improvement.
  • The post holder will be required to work on identified projects to develop and implement good governance practice and processes across the service.
  • The post holder will establish and maintain proactive communication with colleagues at all levels, within and outside the organisation and will be required to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality at all times.
  • The post holder also provides personal assistant functions to the Trust’s non-executive directors and cross-cover within the corporate governance team.
  • The post holder will provide admin support to the Board and/or its sub-Committees, including securing room bookings, drafting agendas and compiling and circulating paper packs.
  • Accurate formal minutes will need to be produced, and action plans and bring forward systems kept updated.
  • Other tasks involved with the role include supporting a Board service visits programme, maintaining registers such as declarations of interests and hospitality, and maintaining the corporate governance web presence.
