Responsibilities

  • We rely on our support staff to help us monitor and review the nutritional intake of some of the patients under our care.
  • In addition part of this role will be to provide support to the dietitians on site covering organisational duties to ensure equipment and nutritional resources are available.
  • There will be some administrative duties so knowledge of Microsoft office and other IT packages will also be of benefit.
  • There will also be opportunity to work in a patient facing capacity and therefore those who also enjoy working in a caring role, have good communication skills and can champion the importance of nutrition in the healthcare setting with enthusiasm would be an ideal fit.
  • Although some existing knowledge of nutrition and experience working in the care setting will be of benefit, training will be provided - your ability to work as part of a team and provide care in a compassionate manner are most important.
  • Whilst based at the Royal Gwent Hospital, this post holder will work with the team of acute dietitians working across the main ABUHB hospitals.
  • The Acute Dietetic team consists of 37 dietitians and 14 dietetic / admin support staff.
  • We currently work Monday to Friday covering usual office hours but also have the benefit of flexible working, enabling staff to manage personal pressures such as appointments alongside work.
