Responsibilities

  • Set up external product specifications.
  • Generate accurate pack copy that meets all legal and retailer-specific requirements.
  • Oversee the completion and approval of back-of-pack information, retailer labels and artwork to ensure compliance with technical labelling policies and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain all technical information across internal digital systems to guarantee product safety, traceability and compliance.
  • Apply your knowledge of BRCGS Issue 9, particularly with regard to supplier approval, supplier risk assessment, raw material compliance and label approval/sign-off.
  • Conduct due diligence on products to ensure compliance with all technical policies, labelling regulations and new or changing legislation.
  • Review and approve raw material specifications using digital specification systems.
  • Lead the onboarding and approval of new suppliers using supplier questionnaires, verification checks and compliance documentation.
  • Evaluate supplier performance to ensure that raw materials meet quality, safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the NPD and EPD teams to support the development of new and improved products from concept to launch.
  • Participate in product design and industrialisation phases and technical feasibility assessments.
  • Ensure critical paths are met to guarantee timely and compliant product launches.
  • Following final recipe sign-off, prepare production monitoring forms and documentation.
  • Coordinate and sign off technical validations, including product testing, shelf-life assessments and organoleptic evaluations.
  • Oversee production trials and promote a culture of technical excellence among production teams through training and hands-on support.
  • Manage recurring technical or consumer-reported issues by defining clear diagnostic processes and identifying corrective actions.
  • Conduct nutritional and technical benchmarking as required to drive continuous improvement.
